A Newry lady who has never missed an episode of RTE and National Lottery game show Winning Streak since it launched on RTE One in 1990 was rewarded by winning €28,000 on the game show last Saturday night!

Eileen Jackson from Newry, wasn’t short of support in RTE studios last weekend. 10 of her 11 siblings were there to cheer her on, while her sister, Pauline, watched from Brussels in Belgium.

Eileen took early retirement from teaching almost 10 years ago, after working for 31 years at Southern Regional College, Newry. In retirement she keeps herself busy volunteering for her local GAA club, John Bosco GAA in Newry and for Gateway club for people with special needs. Nowadays she is a full-time carer for her 91 year old father Peter, who was also in the audience supporting her on Winning Streak.

With her new-found funds, Eileen plans to pursue her two loves: shopping and travel by taking a shopping holiday to New York City! She also plans to buy a new car with her winnings as her current one is for the scrap heap!
