As part of International Men’s Health Week, over 100 men from across Newry, Mourne and Down’s seven District Electoral Area’s (DEA’s) visited Rostrevor Men’s Shed in Crotlieve DEA on Saturday 23 June 2018, to meet and discuss health issues that affect them.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson Councillor Mark Murnin said, “The event was an opportunity for men of all backgrounds and interests from across the district to meet and discuss health issues in a friendly and engaging setting. I would like to thank Rostrevor Men’s Shed for hosting and partnering this event in partnership with the Council.”
Cllr Murnin continued, “International Men’s Health Week took place this earlier month and it is a reminder to all men to look after their physical and mental health. Men’s sheds provide opportunities for men of all backgrounds to socialise in welcoming environments and the health and wellbeing benefits they provide should not be disregarded.”
Rostrevor Men’s Shed presented to the visiting groups at the event, spoke about their journey in establishing their Shed and the variety of projects they have been involved in.
