Students show they are up to the debate with Councillors at the Question Time event in the Council Chamber at Downpatrick as part of Local Democracy Week.

Students from the South Eastern and Southern Regional Colleges took the seats normally occupied by local Councillors in the Council Chamber in Downpatrick. The occasion was a Question Time event to mark European Local Democracy Week.

A panel consisting of five Councillors representing the various political grouping within the Council, Liam Hannaway, Council Chief Executive and Marie Ward, Director of Enterprise, Regeneration and Tourism answered questions from the students. Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Roisin Mulgrew, chaired the debate.
